World Premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Tonight I was fortunate to attend the World Premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this was indeed a historic event since this was the first time ever that a major movie premiere event occurred outside of LA or New York.
The event was held at the Tempe Marketplace just near ASU in Tempe Arizona. At least 5000 people were in attendance, many had tickets and were going to see the film , which was being shown on ALL of the screens at the Tempe Marketplace Harkins Theaters, there are a total of 16 screens at this particular venue . It was amazing to see all the moviegoers/fans, many were dressed to the hilt for this special occasion. Some of the female fans wore evening gowns, and some of the gentlemen wore tuxedos. This attire in the desert of Arizona is not what I am typically accustomed to seeing here, usually it is flip flops and shorts around here.
Around 5:30 p.m. , the crowd began to move about in anticipation, the police and the security crew also began to move into position, I knew that the stars would be coming out soon. So I prepared for the shot, since I knew I would only have about two or three frames, as Hugh drove by. I took some test shots just to be sure, as I did not want to miss a shot during this historic event. As the soundtrack from the movie began to play , we could see Hugh Jackman driving through a predetermined route on his motorcycle. The crowd began to surge a little on the barriers, but all in all were very civilized and well behaved.

As Hugh Jackman, road amongst the crowd he was smiling and thoroughly enjoying the event, you could tell by the look on his face that he loves what he does and this was his night! Just about every news outlet was there from the local news, AP, and Entertainment Tonight.
After the Mayor of Tempe made a proclamation that today was Wolverine day, the stars gathered on a stage to allow the fans to get a close up view of them. The Mayor also gave Hugh a parking pass for anywhere in Tempe, which is indeed a valuable thing to have. Hugh told the crowd they were all free to use his pass at any time, and the crowd went crazy, cheering.

“I love this place,” Jackman said of the Phoenix suburb. “I’m moving here. It’s awesome.”

A few of the stars were only on stage a short time, so I was not able to get shots of them, like Will i Am, and Lynn Collins, but overall the evening was an absolute blast , and I was glad to have been a part of the event! It was a nice break from the Stock Photo world I have been so focused on as of late. Tonight was a great reminder why I am involved in Photography, since the event will be one of those top ten shoots for me!
Enjoy and let your Kachoozie Flow!-ter
